Follow Friday--Fave Author to Hang Out With
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
Q: If you could hang out with any author (living) who would it be and what would you want to do?

Okay, I'll probably get tomatoes thrown at me for this answer, but I think I'd choose Stephenie Meyer. Why?
1) She has written a fantastic dystopian novel (The Host--which I recently read. My review HERE.)
2) She's a ridiculously successful writer. Whether you like her stuff or not, there's no arguing with her (very bankable) success.
3) She's LDS and doesn't write LDS fiction, which is exactly my situation. I'd like to just have a chat with her and swap notes/stories about her experiences, good and bad, and how she's dealt and still deals with her fame and all the criticism of her writing.
What author would you hang out with and why?

Stephanie Meyer would be awesome to talk to. And yeah, she is prettyyy successful! No matter what anyone says. She's probably one of the authors that someone who doesn't read books, would know of just because of the Twilight success. I swear Twilight also set a movie franchise trend!

Meeting Stephenie Meyer would be awesome. I feel so bad the way some people bash her books. I mean, I think people have a right not to like her books, but the way some people just put down the author and anyone who likes the books pisses me off.

I'd want to hang out with one of the authors of the Bible, either Paul or John.

ReplyDeleteI'd like to meet her, and I'm looking forward to reading The Host and seeing the movie. The only book I didn't like of hers was Breaking Dawn. It was really difficult for me to get through. >.< But I liked the first three books in the series a lot.

I read the Twilight series but I have not read The Host yet! It is definitely on my list :D I picked J.K. Rowling! I would love to get to spend a day with her and pick her brain apart about all the Harry Potter details that never made it into the books :)

I would like to know how she handles going to church. Does paparazzi show up at the ward house? Or does they have the sacrament brought to their house like with shut ins?

No tomatoes here! I'd love to chat with her, too. I would have especially loved to talk to her right when she started writing, to figure out what her dreams were. I'm sure back then, she could not fathom her life now. And then I would have talked to her before the movies came out, right before everything blew up.
