Top Ten Tuesday: Artful Book Covers

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week we will post a new Top Ten list  that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

Top 10 Book Covers I'd Frame as Pieces of Art(All covers courtesy of unless otherwise linked.)

10. A Monster Calls -- Haven't read this one but the cover is creepy, but fascinating. It's like a painting you could star at for hours.

9. The Blemished -- Haven't read this one, but the cover fires up my imagination.

8. Fragments -- Both books in this series have great covers. It's like a representation of the quintessential dystopian world.

7. City of Lost Souls -- I love all the covers for this series. So nebulous, almost abstract, but beautiful.

6. Anna Dressed in Blood -- Such a great ghost-story cover! The cover more than anything else made me want to read the book.

5. Some Quiet Place -- Haven't read this one either, but LOVE the cover. It's haunting, almost creepy, but also kind of sad.

4. Wizard's First Rule/Faith of the Fallen -- Okay, two covers from this series but for vastly different reasons. The first is just such a great dragon pic. The second is so great for the story in that book. It ties directly to the plot, but is also symbolic of the major love interest in the series.

3. Path of Daggers -- I rave about this cover all the time. Just such a cool battle picture, and the one that got me interested in the Wheel of Time series, which is probably my favorite series of all time.

2. This Dark Endeavor -- Love this picture. Beautiful. Historical. When you know it's about Victor Frankenstein, kind of gives you chills.

1. Days of Blood and Starlight/Dreams of Gods and Monsters -- Not crazy about the cover from book 1, but books 2 and 3 are amazing! Can't wait for book 3 to drop!

What top ten covers would you frame and put on your wall?

  1. OOh nice!! Almost chose Anna but ran of picks! Love that cover though!

  4. The house in Oppel's books about Frankenstein is so beautiful described. I wish it was real so I could visit!
