Follow Friday--Happy Hype!

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
Okay, obvious answer, I know, but when I read these (just before book 5 came out) I had SOOO many people telling me not to read them! That was when lots of prudish people were saying that because they used wands and did spells, it was evil and dark and voodoo-ish. Then my sister said she thought it would be stupid to read them because they were "little kid" books. But then there was all the hype. I don't think I have to tell anyone how awesome they were. (Even my sister converted after the movies started coming out! :D

Thanks for stopping by! I liked your picks too! :D
DeleteWhen I first heard about Harry Potter, I thought that the books were strictly for kids and didn't consider reading them. Then I went to see the Sorcerer's Stone movie and immediately bought all of the books that were available at the time.
ReplyDeleteOld follower. Our FF
Yup, there's no going back once it hooks you. :D Thanks for visiting! :D
DeleteI'm not sure if I would dedicate my reading time to Harry Potter, but it still does look like a decent read. Maybe in a year from now, I'll actually attempt to read the book!
ReplyDeleteMy FF
You totally should! They're great! Warning: You will get addicted! :D Happy Friday!
DeleteOh, good choice! I didn't actually hear the hype about Harry Potter until I was already into it, though :D

Thanks for visiting! Happy Friday!
DeleteOld follower, one of, if not the best hyped up series that lived up to the hype it generated, thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Have a great weekend!
DeleteNew follower!
ReplyDeleteI've never read the Harry Potter series, but I'm gonna be a rebel and not read them. I'm more of a contemporary girl. :)
LOL. Good for you! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend! :D
Delete*facepalm*
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Gosh. I can't believe I forgot about the HP series on my list! But yes, totally agree with you on this one!
Thanks for stopping by my FF :)
OMG. Perfect choice! I read the first five books right after I just turned 20. I just devoured them. I remember finishing book one in my dorm room and I sat there for a moment befuddled and then I just like ran to the campus bookstore for Book 2. I RAN. My younger sister thought I was nuts. I tried to convince her over and over again to read the books...just like browbeat her into doing it. Finally it was like nearly 2 years later that I got her to read the books...and now she's a huge fan.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the ~controversies, I used to think they were so far removed from me...just something I read online, but I actually did encounter people who won't read them because they "glorify" witchcraft. But I was like...errr it's about love and family and friendship and good overcoming evil. Still, they just will not budge. Oh well. *shrugs* LOL
Sorry this went on so long...yikes. I'm word vomiting all over your comments section.
PS: I love your book cover. Will have to add that to my tr list pronto.

DeleteI don't know why I didn't think to list HP for this question. Becaue I definitely feel like this is the series that was worth every bit of the hype, and then some. Such a wonderful series. I get a warm, fuzzy feeling inside when I think of HP. And when I see other people loving HP, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog, I'm your newest follower! Great minds think alike, Harry Potter was my answer to the question too :)

ReplyDeleteI started reading these books because I was assigned the 3rd one in a Children's Lit class in college, and I thought, "How dumb, why would I start with the third in a series" so I started with the first and fell TOTALLY in love. :)
