Follow Friday--Uncomfortable Genres
Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Q: When you step out of your USUAL genre what do you like to read? Best books in that genre?
My genres tend to be historical, fantasy/scifi, dystopian, and crime drama. Anything else is stepping out of my comfort genre. Contemporary, especially. Recently I read Pushing the Limits and thought it was pretty great. One of the better ones in that genre that I've read. :D
How about you? What genre is out of your comfort zone?

DeleteI usually read fantasy, science fiction, and thrillers with a horror slant. I guess Rusty's War Angels novella was the last book I read outside those genres. And it was really good!
ReplyDeleteHaven't read that one! I'll look it up. Thanks Alex! :D
DeleteI tend to read contemporary when I'd just finished reading something "heavy", like epic fantasy or sci-fi. And I really want to read Pushing the Limits!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my FF! :)

DeleteDon't know what my fave is. I like mysteries like Mary Higgins Clark and true crime like Gary C King and Patricia Cornwell's Jack the Ripper novel. I kind of umbrella all those under crime drama. I also write it. :D Thanks for visiting!
ReplyDeleteHopping through. I've always read a lot of contemporary. I did enjoy Pushing the Limits.

Have a fabulous weekend!
Thanks for stopping by my FF! Followed back via GFC. I LOVED Pushing the Limits! Glad you tried it!
ReplyDeleteSeems like a lot of people mentioned Pushing the Limits as a book out of their genre. Thanks for visiting. I'm a new follower.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a FF post this week, got overun with book tours, next thing I know its Sat, and I had forgot about the FF post, lol
ReplyDeleteI will give my opinion though.
Me, I get uncomfortable in anything erotica, i know, I may be weird, but just hate it, and worse is if its bad writing with no plot on top of it. (like one horrid book that is getting too much attention lol) anyway, also I do not like to read scary, I get nightmares, lol, I pretty much like only to read paranormal books, paranormal romance, and dystopian is about all.
Have a great day. I also do not read contemporary, i do on an occasion, if by a favorite author, like I actually am going to read Jessica Sorensen's The Secret of Ella and Micha new book, because I am a fan.
I keep hearing great things about Pushing the Limits, I'll have to try it!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower :) My FFF is here http://www.onstarshipsanddragonwings.com/2012/10/21/feature-follow-friday-1/
