Follow Friday: How Many Books Do You Read at Once + Friday Funnies

Follow Friday

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Do you read more than 1 book at a time, and if so, how, like a certain amount of pages per book before moving on to the next one in the queue? - Suggested by Words I Write Crazy.

I'm totally guilty of reading more than one at once the past few years. I usually have one book that I'm reading for the week, but I've been doing a bunch of extended read-alongs, so I tend to also have two other books I have to keep up on for the current read-along. Then I also sometimes try to read a non-fiction, self-improvement, religious, or writing book. So I often end up reading 3-5 at once.

Don't get me wrong: that's hard. I end up burning myself out. I have two read-alongs that will end in February and March respectively. After that, I'm going to try and keep it to one book at a time for a while. I'll still read 2 or 3 a week (hopefully) but just one at a time. I'll see if that is any easier for me. :D

What about you? Just one book at a time, or slightly masochistic, like me?

    1. Sometimes I feel that way, too, but I make it work. Hopefully not for too much longer, though. :D Thanks Jennifer. Hope you had a great weekend!

  2. I usually read 3 at once. I try to read ones in different genres and/or formats so I don't get confused.

    1. Yeah, me too. I'll read one fiction, one non-fiction, and hopefully one that's in ebook format so I can differentiate. Thanks Brooke. Hope you had a great weekend! :D

  3. Oh wow, you read like a ton of books at one time, that's something I can't do. The most I can get by with reading multiples is at least two, and that's usually a review eGalley on the Kindle and then a book of my shelf that's been there for a while. :)

Happy Reading and Hopping Through! :)

    1. Yeah it can be exhausting at times. I'm hoping to condense after this month, though. Thanks Susan!

  4. Wow! That's kind of amazing that you can read so many and know what's going on in all of them! I prefer reading 1 at a time and have been ever so happy since I finished school and those extra 3-4 books are not in my way of my reading anymore!

    1. Yeah, nothing lets you appreciate pleasure reading than finishing school. I remember that so well. Thanks Jessica! :D

    1. They're fun, and you get extra books read which is always a plus, but they can also be stressful when you have too much to read, lol. Thanks for stopping by. Hope your weekend was great! :D

  7. Wow 5! The most I have ever read is 3 and it took me quite awhile to finish them :P

    1. When I get behind on reading, I REALLY get behind, and it takes me a while to finish, but as long as I stay on top of things, I can keep it handled. Thanks for stopping by! :D

  8. Oh goodie, another multiple reader. Starting to feel quite alone. ;) And it's never a bad thing, it's obviously how you are wired, and if your brain has coped so far, there's no reason to stop. xx

    1. Agreed! Glad to find another one as well. I actually do want to condense, but I'd like to keep reading the same amount. Don't know how capable I am, though. I might say I'll only read one book at a time, but then I won't be able to stop myself starting others. Don't know. We'll see. :D Thanks Kate. Hope you had an awesome weekend!

  9. I carry my mp3 player at work and listen to audio books all day, but at home I have hard copies and my tablet. So I always have at least 2 books going.

    1. I've tried audio books, but they aren't really my thing. I'm listening to one right now, but I only get to listen for an hour or two a week when I run on the treadmill. I'll keep going until I finish, but I"m not sure I'll be really gung-ho to keep listening. Like I said, just not my thing. Good for you, though. It's always good to have more than one going. :D
